Declined SASSA SRD Grant Appeal Process 2024:

If an applicant’s Declined SASSA SRD Grant Appeal Process: is rejected and they believe the decision was unfair or mishandled, they have the option to appeal SASSA’s decision. If SASSA accepts the appeal, they will reverse their decision, a process that typically takes 60 to 90 days.

SASSA is a South African governmental agency responsible for providing social relief to deserving individuals to assist them in meeting their daily needs. Eligible applicants apply for the grant, and SASSA reviews their applications to determine eligibility. If an application is approved, the applicant begins receiving the grant from the date of application. However, if an application does not meet the requirements, SASSA rejects it.

Deceased Record on DHA:

The DHA database indicates that the applicant is registered as deceased during the reconsideration period.

Existing SASSA Grant:

This signifies that the SASSA SRD Grant Appeal applicant was already receiving a different social grant during the reconsideration period, which renders them ineligible for the SASSA SRD Grant Appeal.

Identity Verification Failed:

This indicates that the personal information provided in your application does not match the records maintained by the Department of Home Affairs. In simpler terms, there is a discrepancy in your identity details.

Age Outside Range (>60):

This denotes that the applicant is over 60 years of age during the reconsideration period, making them ineligible due to age restrictions.

Age Outside Range (<18):

 This signifies that the applicant is younger than 18 years of age during the reconsideration period, making them ineligible due to age restrictions.

UIF Registered:

 This indicates that the applicant received Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) payments during the reconsidered period, indicating another form of financial assistance.

Alternative Income Source Identified:

This indicates that the applicant had a balance of R624 or more deposited into their bank account during the reconsideration period, suggesting an alternative source of income that exceeds the grant’s eligibility threshold.

NSFAS Registered:

 This suggests that the applicant was receiving funds from the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) during the reconsideration period, indicating an additional source of financial support

Government Payroll Registered:

This confirms the applicant’s employment in a government institution during the reconsideration period, indicating stable employment and income.

Before lodging an appeal against the SASSA decision to reject your application, it is essential to follow these steps:

  1. Log on to the SASSA portal.
  2. Double-check the information you provided to ensure its accuracy.
  3. Update or change any incorrect information previously entered, if necessary.

If you are thinking to lodge a SASSA SRD Grant Appeal than you can do so easily by following the steps explained below;

Open SASSA Website

Open SASSA’s official website on your browser. You can also visit their website by clicking the link:    https://srd.sassa.gov.za/appeals/appeal 

Enter Information:

Upon being redirected to the appeal website, you will need to furnish your 13-digit South African ID number along with the phone number you provided during the grant application process. Then, simply tap on the “Send” button to proceed.

Confirm Verification:

 To confirm your identity and proceed to the appeal section, please enter the PIN code that you have received on your mobile number.

Month Selection:

After entering the appeal section, you should select the specific month for which you wish to lodge an appeal. Please note that you must submit a separate appeal for each month you are appealing. Attempting to appeal for multiple months within a single application will not be entertained by SASSA officials.

Arguments and Proofs:

Once you have selected the month, you will be required to provide documents as proof to demonstrate your eligibility for the grant. It is recommended to attach all relevant documents that can support your appeal effectively. These may include proof of residence, your identity document, bank statements, or any other relevant documentation. These documents will help strengthen your appeal.

Submission:

Once you have attached all the necessary documents as proof, you need to click on the “Submit” button. After submission, your appeal will be successfully lodged in the SASSA tribunal. It typically takes about 60 to 90 days for SASSA to review your appeal and make a decision regarding your eligibility for the grant.

Please note that if your SASSA SRD Grant Appeal is rejected by SASSA, unfortunately, you will have no other option for appeal except to appeal in the High Court.
