 Reinstate SASSA cancelled Application 2024 – How to Restore our Cancelled Grant?

If you had your SASSA cancelled application for grant as your financial circumstances were improved or you have gotten a job. And unfortunately now again again you have lost the job or your financial circumstances have worsened and you want to restore/reinstate your grant then you are on the right platform. In this article I will tell you the complete process of restoring/reinstating your grant back. You should read the complete article to avoid making your grant restoring process smooth.

It should be noted that the reinstatement process is only for those applicants who have cancelled their R350 grant on their own will.

SASSA Cancelled Application

To be eligible for the SASSA grant, certain criteria must be met:

  1. you must be a South African citizen, asylum seeker, recognized refugee, or have special permit status. 
  2. You must also be a resident of South Africa, aged between 18 and 60 years.
  3. In addition, you should not receive any other government social grant, NSFAS funds or any other grant.
  4. Your monthly earnings should not exceed R624, and you
  5. r assets must not meet the means test criteria. 
  6. To be eligible for aid, you must be unemployed, have no other sources of income, and struggle to meet your family’s basic needs. 
  7. If you are caring for individuals in a state institution, you will be disqualified from receiving assistance.

Meeting these requirements ensures eligibility for the SASSA grant.

You can restore your SASSA SRD Grant by two ways: 

  1. Online through website
  2. Visiting SaSSA office physically.

Reinstating SASSA SRD Grant online by visiting SASSA official website is advisable as it is a convenient and time saving method. However you can make your final decision depending on your own preferences. 

Follow the following steps for restoring your SASSA cancelled application for SRD Grant: 

  1. Click on the link below. This link will redirect you to the official SASSA website for reinstating. https://srd.sassa.gov.za/sc19/reinstate 
  1. You need to enter your 13 digit South African ID number and phone number which you provided while applying for the grant.
  2. After providing all the details, tap on the “Send Pin” option.
  3. Once you have clicked on the “Send Pin” button, you will receive an OTP on your phone number. Enter that OTP, go to the website and tap “verify”.
  4. After verification a pop-up will appear on your screen asking the reason for the reinstatement of the grant. You have to choose one option below: 
  •       No longer income
  •       SASSA Cancelled Application mistakenly or error.
  •       other.
  1. After providing the appropriate reason for reinstatement of the grant you need to confirm by tapping on “yes’ ‘ to a question ” Are you sure you want to reinstate the grant.

That’s it. Following these simple steps you can easily submit a request for reinstatement.

In case you have opted visiting SASSA office by yourself for the reinstatement of your grant than follow the following steps: 

  1. Gather Documents:

Before you visit the office you are recommended to collect the following documents to avoid any inconvenience at the office.

  • South African ID card or Residence permit (For applicants who are not South Africans).
  • Bank statement that shows the transaction history of the last three months.(optional)
  • Any document that confirms your current residence/address.(optional)
  • Any other document that shows your financial condition(optional)

After gathering all the documents you need to locate the nearest office near you. You can locate it on google maps. Also remember that you should visit the SASSA office during office hours (08:00 to 04:30) and office days(Monday to Friday).

  1. Provide Details:

      Once you have reached the office the staff will demand relevant documents and information related to your cause. Provide all the required documents and ask for information.

That’s it. After following all these steps your application will be successfully submitted for reinstatement.
