From where and how can I collect my SASSA Grant payment?
As I have explained about the SASSA payment method in a previous article, you can receive SASSA grants in two ways either through a bank account or in the form of cash.
Bank Account:
Your SASSA grant payment will be deposited in the bank account that you provided while applying for the grant. Once SASSA deposits an amount in your account it will take 3 or 5 days to appear in your account. This time may vary due to unforeseen circumstances or due to holidays.
Also note that banks charge a small amount of fees for handling the amount.
Cash Payment Method:
If you selected cash as your payment method while applying for the grant then you need to visit cash points for collecting your grant. Cash points are following:
- Post offices
- Retail outlets like Pick n Pay, Shoprite boxer etc.
It is advised that you must not go for the collection of grants before the payment date or immediately once the date is reached. You should go 2 to 3 days after the payment date.
